
I guess on-line activity pays off in dog blankets! I finally qualified for a Klout Perk and received a dog-tested (whatever that means) blanket courtesy of Subaru yesterday. The blanket is a clever way to bring attention to the Subaru brand and their “dog-tested, dog-approved” campaign (you can see all the video’s on YouTube).
The reaction has been very positive and a visit to the Subaru Twitter account shows how people are loving the gift by posting photos and videos of their dogs with the product. When you consider how much brands pay for commercials and print ads, giving something away for free to the very consumers who will enjoy the product and “talk” about it online and to their friends is a clever approach. The word of mouth alone will pay off in brand awareness and in lead to additional sales. It certainly made me feel good about Subaru….and my participation on-line.
